Established a full-scale delivery capability in China with a 70% fresher workforce, successfully executing multiple high-stakes projects for local banks and corporates.
As part of a strategic initiative to localise delivery, our team member was tasked with building a new delivery organisation in China from scratch. The goal was ambitious: deliver quality projects for regional banks and corporates using a team where 70% were freshers or early-career professionals with limited enterprise delivery experience.
We started by designing a complete delivery model tailored to local regulations, culture, and client needs. A blended training programme was introduced to upskill the team on PMBOK and internal SDLC practices. Technology leads were selected based on potential and coached in real-time on stakeholder management, risk handling, and structured reporting.
The team successfully delivered a range of projects, including custom office automation tools, commercial websites, and wealth management modules. All projects met defined quality standards, and client satisfaction steadily improved with each release.
Despite the challenges of launching in a complex regulatory and cultural environment, the programme was considered a strategic success. It not only delivered strong results for clients but also became a model for future talent development and expansion.
